The Incubation Centre and Inclusive Centre of Government Degree College, Ganapavaram, organized a workshop on “Empowering Villages: Rural Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Growth” on 10.09.2025. The program aimed to motivate students towards entrepreneurship and create awareness about opportunities in rural enterprise development.
Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, Principal and Program President, addressed the gathering, inspiring students to aim at becoming employers rather than employees, stressing the importance of entrepreneurship in the present era.
The resource persons were:
- Sri V. Chandra Sekhar Rao, Founder & CEO, Innovative Rural Services and GRAMINUM, who spoke about opportunities, challenges, and government support in rural entrepreneurship.
- Smt. V. Krishna Veni, Head, R&D, GRAMINUM, who shared the success story of Graminum, which grew from an investment of ₹30,000 in 2013 into a ₹56 crore turnover venture.
Students were given real-time exposure by selling Graminum products in the local market, and a display of these products was arranged on campus. Gift hampers containing Graminum products were distributed to staff. The resource persons were felicitated with a sapling, memento, and shawl.
The workshop witnessed the active participation of 185 students along with teaching and non-teaching staff. It provided valuable knowledge, motivation, and hands-on experience in rural entrepreneurship, highlighting innovation and community-based business models for sustainable village empowerment.
