The National Service Scheme (NSS) Day celebrations were held grandly in the college on September 24, 2024. Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, the principal, presided over the event and addressed the students. Principal madam mentioned that the college has two NSS units, each with 100 volunteers, making a total of 200 students registered under the National Service Scheme. Madam emphasized that students should cultivate a spirit of service alongside their studies, and the NSS program greatly helps in achieving this.
Principal also informed the students that NSS volunteers receive weightage marks in national and state-level competitive exams. Vice Principal Sri P.Madhu Raju appreciated the active participation of NSS volunteers in various activities of the college. IQAC Coordinator Dr. Ch. Chaitanya spoke about how NSS helps students develop a sense of social responsibility along with their academics.
NSS Unit I Program Officer Dr. G. Venkata Ramana encouraged students to adopt the objectives of the NSS, such as cultivating a service-oriented mindset and fostering leadership and character development alongside academic growth.
As the guest of honor, Press Club Chairman Srihart Srimannarayana appreciated the activities undertaken by the NSS volunteers. As part of the event, competitions were conducted, and the principal awarded prizes to the winners.
Several faculty members, including Dr. T. Anuraju, K.V. Ganesh Kumar, Sri N.B.N. Srinivasarao, Dr. G. Venkataravu, Dr. G.V. Sharada Devi, Sheikh Farivan, Moin Ansari, Rani Dura, Balamani Kantha, Savathi, and Venkana Babu, participated, along with the teaching staff, students, and volunteers. Prizes are awarded to the students who won the Essay Writing, Elocution and 3K Run competitions conducted on the eve of the NSS Day.
