Dept. of Economics organized an Extension lecture on the topic “Sustainable Development Goals – Status of India” with the objective of educating students about the importance of Sustainability in development and main concerns of the world today. Honourable principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari presided over the program and suggested students to make use of such programs and resources for the development of their contemporary knowledge. Dr. P. Aravinda Swamy, lecturer in Economics, RRDS Govt. Degree College, Bhimavaram acted as a resource person and he detailed the core idea behind sustainable development, 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations Organisation with a timeline from 2015 to 2030, initiatives of the Indian Government to achieve the goals and status of India in achieving them in an excellent way with all live examples. Students interacted with the resource person well and clarified their doubts. Resource person felicitated with a sapling at the end and 55 students attended the program
