On 2nd October 2024, Gandhi Jayanti was observed with great reverence and enthusiasm to honor the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. The event began with the garlanding of Gandhi’s portrait by Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, faculty members, and students, followed by a moment of silence to reflect on his contributions to India’s independence and his message of truth, non-violence, and simplicity.

Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari addressed the gathering, emphasizing the relevance of Gandhian values in today’s world. She urged the students to adopt principles like non-violence, self-reliance, and ethical living in their personal and professional lives. The vice principal, Sri P. Madhu Raju, highlighted the importance of service and urged students to actively participate in social welfare activities.

The event included speeches by students on the life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, cultural performances depicting scenes from India’s freedom struggle, and a special tribute to Gandhi’s role in shaping the nation. College NSS Students participated in Gandhi Jayanti celebrations in Gandhi Bhavan at Pedanindrakolanu and Saripalle Gram Panchayat.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks and the distribution of sweets to all participants. The celebrations inspired everyone to follow Gandhi’s ideals and work towards building a better and cleaner society.
