Peer Group Activity: “Crossword Puzzle” by the Department of Chemistry-23.11.2024

The Department of Chemistry at GDC Ganapavaram organized an engaging Peer Group Activity for the first-year students, titled “Crossword Puzzle.” The activity was designed to promote a fun and interactive learning experience while reinforcing key chemistry concepts.

In this activity, students were divided into groups and given a chemistry-themed crossword puzzle to solve. The puzzle featured clues related to fundamental topics in chemistry, including elements, compounds, chemical reactions, periodic table, and basic laboratory equipment. This activity aimed not only to test students’ knowledge of the subject but also to foster teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

The students worked together, sharing ideas and helping each other, as they filled in the answers. The activity was designed to encourage peer learning, where more experienced students could guide their peers and explain concepts in a collaborative environment.

The crossword puzzle also provided an excellent opportunity to reinforce classroom learning in a creative way, ensuring that students gained a deeper understanding of key chemistry topics while having fun in the process.
