Government Degree College, Ganapavaram, organized a “Handful of Rice” Programme on 26.08.2025 to support underprivileged families in the local community.
The initiative encouraged students and staff to contribute a handful of rice daily, promoting the values of empathy, social service, and community engagement among young learners. The collected rice will be distributed to needy families in the surrounding villages.
The programme was coordinated by Smt. B. Rani Durga, Lecturer in Commerce. Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, Vice Principal Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, Lecturer in Economics, and other faculty members actively participated and appreciated the students for their enthusiastic involvement in this noble cause.
This initiative highlights the college’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible citizens and fostering a culture of service and compassion.
