The Youth Red Cross Society of S.CH.V.P.M.R. Government Degree College, Ganapavaram, in collaboration with the Ganapavaram Police Department, organized an Awareness Programme on Cyber Crimes and Drug Abuse on 24th October 2025. The event aimed to educate students about digital safety, responsible online behavior, and the ill effects of drug addiction on individuals and society.
Circle Inspector Sri N. Rajani Kumar and Sub-Inspector Sri A. Manikumar of the Ganapavaram Police Station addressed the students, emphasizing the need for awareness and caution in the age of technology. They explained how cyber frauds, online scams, social media misuse, and digital addiction can impact youth and discussed preventive measures for online safety. The officers also spoke about the harmful effects of drug abuse and highlighted the importance of maintaining physical and mental well-being.
Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, Principal, appreciated the police department for conducting such a valuable session and emphasized that awareness of law and discipline plays a vital role in youth empowerment. Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, Vice Principal, and Sri K.V. Ganesh Kumar, IQAC Coordinator, commended the efforts of the Youth Red Cross Society for organizing this socially significant programme.
The event was coordinated by Sri Ch. Rajababu, YRC Convener, and Sri S. Venkanna Babu, YRC Member, with active participation from faculty and students.
