The Youth Red Cross (YRC), in collaboration with the Women Empowerment Cell, of S. Ch. V.P.M.R. Government Degree College, Ganapavaram, conducted an Awareness Programme on Health and Hygiene at ZPPH Girls High School, Ganapavaram on 01 December 2025.
A group of B.Com I Year (Commerce) students interacted with school children and explained the importance of maintaining good health and hygiene in everyday life. They highlighted simple yet essential practices such as:
- Regular handwashing
- Personal cleanliness
- Healthy habits for daily routine
- Menstrual hygiene and its importance
The school students listened actively and participated with enthusiasm throughout the session.
Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari addressed the gathering, emphasizing how healthy habits build confidence and support overall well-being, especially for young girls. Her motivational interaction inspired the students to adopt good hygiene practices.
The programme was coordinated by Sri Ch. Rajababu, YRC Coordinator, and supported by Sri S. Venkanna Babu, YRC Member, and Smt. P. Balamanikanta, Women Empowerment Cell Member. They guided the students and encouraged them to spread awareness among their peers and families.
Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari further encouraged the schoolchildren by distributing chocolates and pens to the 9th-class students. She also appreciated the Scouts students for their active participation and presented them with water bottles, bringing smiles and motivation to the young learners.
Approximately 60 students and several teachers from ZPPH Girls High School participated in the programme and appreciated the efforts of the college team.
At the conclusion of the event, Head Master Sri Apparao felicitated Dr.P.Nirmala Kumari, Principal for conducting such a meaningful awareness programme and expressed gratitude to the college for bringing this initiative to their school.
The programme concluded successfully, creating strong awareness among the students about adopting healthy hygiene practices in their daily lives.
