National Pollution Prevention Day Observed – 03.12.2025

National Pollution Prevention Day was observed on 02 December 2025 at our institution with active participation from faculty members, NSS volunteers, Eco-Club members, and students. The programme aimed to create awareness about the adverse effects of pollution and the collective responsibility we all share in building a cleaner and healthier environment. The event was jointly organized by the Department of Chemistry, NSS Unit, and Eco-Club of the college.

The programme was presided over by Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, who highlighted the importance of pollution control strategies and stressed the need to adopt sustainable practices in everyday life.

Sri N. V. N. B. Srinivasa Rao, Lecturer in Chemistry, addressed the gathering with an insightful talk on different types of pollution, their harmful effects on ecosystems, and the urgent necessity to eliminate single-use plastics to safeguard the environment.

The event was attended by Vice Principal Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, IQAC Coordinator Sri K. V. Ganesh Kumar, NSS Programme Officers Dr. G. V. Ramana and Sri Sk. Moin Ansari, and Eco-Club Coordinator Dr. Sk. Parveen, along with other faculty members, who encouraged students to take an active and responsible role in environmental conservation.

Following the formal session, students enthusiastically participated in an awareness rally on pollution prevention. A plastic removal drive was also carried out within the campus, reinforcing the message of reducing plastic usage and maintaining a clean and green environment.

The programme concluded with a collective pledge to continue efforts towards making the campus green, plastic-free, and environmentally sustainable.
