Fruit Distribution Program on International Volunteer Day – 05.12.2025

The Department of Economics, in association with the Department of Social Work, organized a Fruit Distribution Program at the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Ganapavaram on 05 December 2025 to mark International Volunteer Day – 2025. The event aligned with this year’s global theme: “Every Contribution Matters.”

As part of the initiative, students prepared theme-based display cards highlighting the essence of volunteerism and community service. They voluntarily purchased fruits and ORS drinks and distributed them to out-patients visiting the PHC. A total of 21 students (I & II BA) participated actively, along with faculty members Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, Lecturer in Economics, and Dr. G. Venkata Rao, Lecturer in Social Work. Dr. Omkarnath, Assistant Civil Surgeon, PHC Ganapavaram, also took part in the program.

Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari appreciated the students for their thoughtful contribution and encouraged them to continue participating in initiatives that promote social responsibility. She emphasized the importance of volunteerism in fostering compassion, community welfare, and service-mindedness among youth.

The program offered students a valuable opportunity to experience the spirit of community engagement, extend support to those in need, and participate meaningfully in a socially relevant activity. The event concluded successfully with positive feedback from the beneficiaries and PHC staff.
