Sri Chintalapati Vara Prasada Murthy Raju Government Degree College, Ganapavaram observed the death anniversary of Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, with reverence and patriotic spirit by NSS Units-I & II.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, who emphasized the invaluable role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the integration of princely states and nation-building, and inspired students to imbibe his ideals of unity, discipline, and national integrity.
Vice Principal Dr. K. Swarupa Rani highlighted the importance of remembering great national leaders and encouraged students to draw inspiration from Patel’s leadership, determination, and service to the nation.
As part of the observance, faculty members and students participated in a rally from the college to the Ganapavaram Gram Panchayat Office, where the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is located. The rally aimed to create public awareness about Patel’s contribution to national unity and integrity.
At the Panchayat Office, the participants garlanded the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and paid floral tributes. Sri Nandhyala Ramalingaraju garu, a well-wisher of the college and a respected member of the local community also participated in the programme and joined the gathering in paying respects to the Iron Man of India.
NSS Units-I & II POs Dr.G.Venkata Ramana & Sri Sk.Ansari coordinated the event. Faculty members spoke on the life and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, highlighting his role as the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India and his decisive leadership in unifying the nation.
The programme concluded with a pledge by the students to uphold the values of unity, integrity, and national service as envisioned by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The observance served as a meaningful reminder of his enduring legacy and relevance in present times.
