Malaria Awareness Campaign Conducted-25.04.2026

The Department of Zoology of S.Ch.V.P.M.R. Government Degree College, Ganapavaram organized a Malaria Awareness Campaign on the occassion of World Malaria Day on 25 April 2026 in the nearby villages of Ganapavaram under the guidance of Dr. Sk. Parveen, Lecturer in Zoology & Eco Club Convener.

The programme was formally inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, who emphasized the importance of public health awareness and encouraged students to actively participate in community outreach activities.

On this occasion, Sri K. V. Ganesh Kumar, Dr. G. Venkata Ramana, Sri J. Venkatesh, and Sri Arun Kumar were present and highlighted the need for collective efforts in addressing health challenges like malaria.

As part of the campaign, students actively participated in door-to-door awareness drives, pamphlet distribution, and interactive sessions with villagers. They explained the causes of malaria, mosquito vectors, symptoms, and preventive measures, including maintaining cleanliness, avoiding stagnant water, and using mosquito nets and repellents.

The campaign successfully created awareness among the rural community and encouraged the adoption of preventive practices. The programme reflected the institution’s commitment towards community service, health awareness, and student engagement in real-world issues.
