“Open Day celebrations were conducted in our college campus, duly inviting Senior Intermediate students from the local Government Junior College and Government Girls High School, Ganapavaram, to our college on 07-02-2024.
As part of encouraging a higher number of admissions into UG courses in our degree college, our faculty members approached and visited the Principals of Government Junior College and Government Girls High School, Ganapavaram, respectively, and invited the senior intermediate students to visit our Government Degree College, Ganapavaram, on the occasion of the ‘Open Day’ at our college campus.
Approximately 90 students of Senior Intermediate, along with Sri Swamy Dora, Junior Lecturer in Economics, Sri Kiran Babu, Lecturer in History, Sri. Sai Baba, Junior Lecturer in Hindi of Government Junior College, and Sri. Ram Babu, Teacher from Government Girls High School Ganapavaram, visited our College on 07-02-2024, at about 11:30 AM. We convened a meeting with these Senior Intermediate students at our college campus.
Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, Principal of our college, presided over the meeting with her introductory remarks. IQAC Coordinator Dr. Ch. Chaitanya, Sri P. Madhu Raju, Lecturer in Physics, Dr. T. Akki Raju, Lecturer in English, Sri NVNB Srinivas Rao, Lecturer in Chemistry, Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, Lecturer in Economics, Dr. Sk. Parveen Lecturer in Zoology, Sri. P. Bhaskar, Lecturer in History, Smt. Rani Durga, Lecturer in Commerce and Smt. P. Swathi, Physical Education Director participated in the gathering. Dr. T. Akki Raju, Lecturer in English, motivated the students by giving a glimpse of the facilities available in the college. On this occasion, aspects like
(1) the importance of undergraduate education under the present single major system (2) Academic facilities, including details of various teaching departments and particulars of working staff members (3) Infrastructure facilities, such as laboratory and computer centre facilities, library facility, JKC, AP Skill Hub, etc., available in this college (4) Employment prospects with UG courses and (5) Opportunities for higher education were discussed in detail.
Our present students, Ms. B. Vasanthi, III B.Sc., (BZC), Ms. S. Chaitra, I B.Sc., (Chemistry Major), and Ms. Teja Harshini, III B.Sc., (BZC), expressed their views, duly narrating their experiences about their program of study at our college campus.
IQAC Coordinator Dr. Ch. Chaitanya proposed the vote of thanks to the gathering. The meeting concluded with the distribution of refreshments to the invited students.
Later, as part of the visit, these invited students moved towards various laboratories, such as the Physics laboratory, Zoology Laboratory, Botany Laboratory, Chemistry laboratory, Computer Science laboratory, Library, etc., and departments like Economics, Commerce, Social Work, History, English, etc., in our college.”
