The Department of Economics, Women Empowerment Cell and NSS Unit I and II, in association with IQAC of the college, organized a series of events on the occasion of World Population Day 2024. First-year students made wall posters on the themes of ‘Ill Effects of Malnutrition’ and ‘Demographic Dividend – Issues to Focus,’ with the help of faculty members. These posters were released by the honorable Principal, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, on the day of the event. Awareness programs were organized in Primary School, Ganapavaram; ZPP High School for Boys, Ganapavaram; and Govt. Junior College, Ganapavaram, focusing on issues related to the population in India, and interactive sessions were held with students. An elocution competition on the topic ‘Population in India – Pros and Cons’ was conducted for junior college students, and prizes were awarded to the best performers.
