Today the Department of Economics in association with the Department of Botany organized a program “A Tribute to Dr. M. S. Swaminathan- The Father of the Green Revolution in India”. Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, Principal of the college detailed the concept of the Green Revolution. Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, Lecturer in Economics explained the positive and negative impact of Green Revolution. Dr. Ch. Chaitanya, Lecturer in Botany explained about high yield variety seeds and Genetically Modified Seeds. Kum. K. Hemalatha & K. Renuka, students of III BA presented the Biography of Dr. M. S. Swaminathan. About 50 students, and 6 faculty attended the program.
