Awareness Program on “Ending Plastic Pollution” under SASA-19.07.2025

“Swarna Andhra – Swachha Andhra” (SASA) is a flagship initiative launched by the Government of Andhra Pradesh aiming at the holistic development of the state by 2047. As part of the SASA’s July theme “Ending Plastic Pollution”, an Awareness Programme was conducted at Sri Chintalapati Varaprasada Murthy Raju Government Degree College, Ganapavaram on 19.07.2025.

Dr. D.K. Omkar Nath, Medical Officer, PHC Ganapavaram, served as the resource person and enlightened the students on the harmful effects of plastic pollution on health and the environment. He emphasized the need to reduce single-use plastics and adopt eco-friendly alternatives to protect future generations. CHO Sri J. Wilson Babu from the local PHC also actively participated in the program and interacted with the students.

The program was organized under the guidance of SASA Coordinator Dr.G.Venkatarao, Lecturer in Social Work.
Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, Principal, Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, Vice Principal, and Dr. Ch. Chaitanya, IQAC Coordinator, were present and encouraged students to become agents of environmental sustainability.
