The Women Empowerment Cell and the Inclusive Center in association with the Dept. of Social Work and NSS Unit – I organized an awareness session on “ABHAYA”, the new security system developed by the Department of Police, Andhra Pradesh which facilitates anonymous reporting of crimes. Sri M. V. Subhash, Circle Inspector of Police and Sri A. Mani Kumar, Sub-Inspector of Police, Ganapavaram was invited as resource persons for the session. They detailed students about the unique features of ABHAYA in particular and harmful effects of ragging, substance use, usage of social media, excessive screen time, cyber financial crimes etc. in general. Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, honorable principal of the college addressed the students and suggested them to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Other police personnel, teaching and non-teaching staff of the college and 125 students attended the session.
