Dept of Physics-Guest Lecture-29.10.2024

The Department of Physics at Government Degree College (GDC), Ganapavaram, organized an insightful guest lecture for final-year students on October 29, 2024. The session was led by Dr. M.V.S. Prasad, a distinguished lecturer in Physics from DNR College, Bhimavaram, who is well-regarded for his expertise in the field of Spectroscopy. The topic of the lecture was “Spectroscopy” a vital area of study in physics that explores the interaction of light and matter, essential for a wide array of scientific and technological applications.

Principal, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari inaugurated the session by emphasizing the importance of advanced topics like Spectroscopy in preparing students for academic and research careers. Vice-Principal Sri P. Madhu Raju highlighted how such guest lectures contribute to enriching the students’ academic experience and broadening their perspectives on contemporary scientific advancements.

During the lecture, Dr. M.V.S. Prasad provided a detailed overview of Spectroscopy, covering fundamental concepts, its types, and applications in various fields such as astronomy, chemistry, and materials science.
