Guest Lecture on the occasion of National Women’s Day-13.02.2025

National Women’s Day is observed annually in India on February 13th to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sarojini Naidu, a renowned political leader, poet, and champion of women’s rights. Known as the “Nightingale of India,” Sarojini Naidu was born on this day in 1879. On this occasion, a senior English faculty Mrs. M. Indiramma from the Dept. of English, DRG Govt. Degree College, Tadepalligudem was invited to the college.
At a college level celebration in the smart room, Mrs. M. Indiramma addressed the students and staff. She spoke about Sarojini Naidu’s outstanding contribution to the nation, to Indian English literature and to women’s rights. The event was presided over by the Principal of the College Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari who urged the students to read more about Sarojini Naidu and other freedom fighters, and graced by Sri P. Madhu Raju, Vice Principal, Dr. Ch. Chaitanya, IQAC Coordinator, Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, WEC Coordinator, Dr, GV Sarada Devi (Maths), Dr. GV Ramana (Telugu), Smt. P. Bala (Commerce). About 100 students from both the colleges attended the event. The program was coordinated by Dr. T. Akki Raju, Incharge, Dept. of English and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Ch. Anuradha (English).
