S.Ch.V.P.M.R. Government Degree College, Ganapavaram organized a “Handful of Rice” activity on 11 March 2026 with the objective of promoting the values of sharing, compassion, and social responsibility among students.
The programme was coordinated by Sri B. Rani Durga, Lecturer in Commerce, who motivated students to actively participate in this noble initiative. As part of the activity, students and staff voluntarily contributed rice, demonstrating their commitment towards helping the needy.
The rice collected through this initiative will be donated to Sunrise Foundation Old Age Home, Mahadevapatnam (near Undi) on 12.03.2026 extending support to the elderly residents.
On this occasion, the Principal of the college, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, appreciated the efforts of the coordinator, staff, and students for their generous contributions and encouraged them to continue participating in such meaningful service activities.
The organizers expressed special thanks to Dr. Ch. Chaitanya, Dr. Ch. Anuradha, Dr. G. V. Sarada Devi, Dr. Shaik Parveen, and the office staff for their generosity in contributing rice bags to support the old age home.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation and successfully instilled the spirit of service, empathy, and social responsibility among all participants.
