“International Women’s Day, under the theme ‘Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,’ and a campaign theme – ‘Inspire Inclusion,’ was celebrated at SCHVPMR GDC Ganapavaram on 7th March from 11:00 AM onwards in the Seminar Hall. The President of the program, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari Garu, Principal, and other dignitaries, including all women faculty (teaching and non-teaching), were invited onto the stage and welcomed by giving flowers. The program started with a prayer song by P. Ramana, II BZC student. Dr. Ch. Chaitanya, IQAC Coordinator, then invited the President of the program to address the gathering. Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari Garu, Principal of the college, addressed the faculty and students on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2024 with the theme ‘Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.’
Dr. T. Akki Raju, Lecturer in English, reviewed the history of social reforms and reformers in India who worked against many women’s issues and requested the girl students to seize the opportunities available. Dr. Sarada Devi, Lecturer in Mathematics, encouraged the girl students to be confident and have the decision-making power to enhance their quality of life. This was followed by the felicitation of the mothers of III year BA and BSc topper students.”
