The Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) of S.Ch.V.P.M.R. Government Degree College, Ganapavaram organized International Women’s Day Celebrations on 06 March 2026 in the Seminar Hall. The programme was conducted to highlight the importance of women’s empowerment, gender equality, and the vital role of women in society.
The programme was organized under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, who appreciated the initiative of the Women Empowerment Cell and emphasized the importance of empowering women through education, confidence, and leadership. She encouraged students to actively participate in such programmes that promote equality and awareness.
The event was graced by Smt. Moora Alankaram, Sarpanch of Ganapavaram, and Smt. Ganta Veeraveni, Headmaster of ZPHS Boys, Ganapavaram, as distinguished guests. They addressed the gathering and shared inspiring thoughts on women’s empowerment, education, and the role of women in community development.
The programme was coordinated by the WEC Coordinator, Dr. Ch. Anuradha, with the support of Smt. P. Balamanikanta, Lecturer, who actively contributed to the successful organization of the event.
Several cultural and fun-filled activities were conducted for students and staff members, including “She Inspires Me” Speaking Game, Puzzle Challenge – Women Icons, Dog and the Bone, Balloon Game, Head to Toe Game, and Antyakshari. These activities encouraged active participation and created a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere among the participants.
On this occasion, Vice Principal Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, Lecturer in Economics, appreciated the efforts of the Women Empowerment Cell in organizing a meaningful programme that promotes awareness about women’s empowerment and gender equality.
The programme concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where winners of various competitions were awarded prizes by the Chief Guest and the Principal, who appreciated the enthusiastic participation of both students and staff. The celebrations witnessed active participation from a large number of students and faculty members, making the event successful and memorable. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks.
