The Department of Mathematics of Sri Chintalapati Vara Prasada Murthy Raju Government Degree College, Ganapavaram observed National Mathematics Day on 22 December 2025 in the Smart Room with active participation from students and faculty members. The programme was organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan and to promote interest in mathematics among students.
The programme was chaired by the Vice Principal, Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, who highlighted the importance of mathematics in daily life, scientific progress, and problem-solving skills. She emphasized that mathematics forms the foundation for logical thinking and innovation in all fields of study.
College Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari extended her encouragement to the Department of Mathematics for organizing the event and appreciated the efforts taken to inspire students towards analytical and quantitative thinking.
The programme was graced by the presence of Sri K. V. Ganesh Kumar, IQAC Coordinator, as the Guest of Honour, who spoke on the role of mathematics in higher education, research, and quality initiatives within the institution.
The event was coordinated by Dr. G. Sarada Devi, Lecturer in Mathematics, who organized the academic activities and facilitated student participation. Students actively engaged in the programme and reflected on the life, contributions, and mathematical genius of Srinivasa Ramanujan.
The observance of National Mathematics Day successfully reinforced the relevance of mathematics in academics and real-life applications, inspiring students to appreciate the subject beyond textbooks.
