Government Degree College, Ganapavaram actively participated in the observance of Road Safety Month by organizing a series of awareness activities under the guidance of Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari. The month-long initiative aimed at instilling a sense of responsibility and caution among students regarding traffic rules and the importance of safe road behavior.
A variety of competitions and awareness programs were conducted, including Essay Writing, Poster Making, PowerPoint Presentations, and Elocution, which received overwhelming participation from students across all disciplines. These activities were designed to not only engage students creatively but also to deepen their understanding of the critical issues related to road safety, such as drunk driving, over-speeding, the importance of helmets and seat belts, and pedestrian discipline.
Principal madam emphasized the role of youth in promoting road safety awareness within their communities and highlighted the tragic consequences of road negligence. Madam appreciated the involvement of students and faculty in this important cause and encouraged continued efforts in spreading such awareness.
All the teaching staff of the college lent their support and involvement to the initiative, further strengthening the message among students. The entire program was meticulously coordinated by Dr. G. Venkata Ramana, Programme Officer of NSS Unit I.
Nearly 100 students took active part in the various activities, showcasing their commitment towards being responsible citizens. The event concluded on a positive note with a call for collective responsibility in making roads safer for everyone.
