As per the proceedings of the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, Andhra Pradesh, students of S.Ch.V.P.M.R. Government Degree College, Ganapavaram were given the opportunity to witness the live sessions of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly (APLA) and the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council (APLC) at the Assembly Buildings, Velagapudi, Amaravati on 24.02.2026.
In accordance with the official schedule, two batches of 30 students each (total 60 students) visited the Assembly sessions. The students were accompanied by four faculty members:
- Dr. G. Venkata Ramana, Lecturer in Telugu
- Dr. Ch. Chaitanya, Lecturer in Botany
- Smt. B. Rani Durga, Lecturer in Commerce
- Sri P. V. Ramesh Babu, Lecturer in Computer Applications
The students observed the live legislative proceedings, gaining first-hand exposure to parliamentary discussions, policy debates, and the functioning of democratic institutions. The visit provided valuable experiential learning, enhancing their understanding of governance, constitutional processes, and public administration.
Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari stated that such academic exposure visits significantly strengthen students’ awareness of democratic values and legislative functioning, and encouraged students to utilize such opportunities for intellectual growth.
During the visit, the students also had the privilege of meeting the Hon’ble MLA Sri Patsamatla Dharmaraju Garu, Unguturu constituency who interacted with them and encouraged them to actively participate in democratic processes and public life.
On their return journey, the students visited the historic Undavalli Caves, gaining insights into the rich cultural and architectural heritage of the region.
The visit proved to be an informative and inspiring experience, leaving the students with a deeper understanding of both democratic governance and historical heritage.
