“Swarna Andhra – Swachha Andhra”-Workshop on Composting Organic Waste-15.02.2025

In compliance to the proceedings of the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, Govt of Andhra Pradesh pertaining “Swarna Andhra – Swachha Andhra”, the third Saturday of every month is designated as “Swachh Andhra Day” to promote cleanliness and sustainability. On 15.02.2025, a workshop on “Composting Organic Waste” was conducted to educate students and staff on effective waste management practices.

Sri J. Wilson Babu, CHO, PHC Ganapavaram, served as the resource person, delivering an insightful session on the importance of composting, methods of organic waste management, and its environmental benefits. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. G. Venkata Rao, Lecturer in Social Work, who has been appointed as the Swachha Andhra Nodal Officer at the college level to oversee and implement cleanliness initiatives.

Following the workshop, all participants took the Swachha Andhra Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings. A campus clean-up drive was conducted with active participation from faculty, students, NSS Units, and non-teaching staff, ensuring a cleaner and greener environment.

Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to incorporate sustainable practices into daily life. Vice Principal Sri P. Madhu Raju, IQAC Coordinator Dr. Ch. Chaitanya, and faculty members actively participated in the event, making it a successful step toward a cleaner Andhra Pradesh.
