The Department of Physical Education in collaboration with Adikavi Nannaya University, hosted the Women’s Inter-Collegiate Table Tennis Tournament on 12.11.2024. The event was inaugurated under the guidance of Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, who emphasized to the players the importance of excelling in sports alongside academics, especially for women students, and conveyed her best wishes to the participants from various colleges. Physical Director Smt. A. Swathi coordinated the event.
Chief Guest Sri K. Surendra Kumar Raju encouraged players to actively participate and secure positions in the university selections. Guest of Honor Sri Thota Srinu, Ganapavaram Town President (Jana Sena), urged students to make the best use of this tournament. Special Guest Sri Adireddy Satyanarayana praised Ganapavaram College’s proactive role in hosting university-level competitions.
CPDC Member Sri N. Sriram also attended the event and shared his valuable suggestions with the college. The tournament was overseen by Mr. V. M. Phanindra, Director of Physical Education, Adikavi Nannaya University, as Observer, with Mr. G. Pavan Kumar Raju (Selection Committee Member) from BV Raju College, Bhimavaram, and Ms. M. Ratna Kumari (Selection Committee Member) from SKSD Women’s College, Tanuku.
Four colleges participated in the tournament, competing vigorously. Final rankings were as follows:
- 1st Place: S.V.K.P. & Dr. K.S.Raju Arts & Science College, Penugonda
- 2nd Place: SKSD Women’s College, Tanuku
- 3rd Place: St. Theresa’s College, Eluru
- 4th Place: Government Degree College, Ganapavaram
