Green Initiative: Terrace Garden Developed-20.09.2025

As part of its commitment to creating a sustainable and eco-friendly campus, GDC Ganapavaram has established a Terrace Garden. This activity is organized by Youth Red Cross (YRC) society as part of the proposed activties of YRC for the acadmeic year 2024-25 in collaboration with SASA committee. This green initiative aims to promote environmental awareness among students while encouraging the practice of organic gardening and sustainable living.

The terrace garden will serve as a learning space for students to understand the importance of greenery, biodiversity, and natural resources in day-to-day life. It not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the campus but also contributes to a healthier environment.

By developing this garden, the college underscores its dedication to environmental responsibility, inspiring students to actively participate in nurturing nature and building a green future.

The program was conducted under the guidance of Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, Vice Principal Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, and IQAC Coordinator Sri K.V. Ganesh Kumar. Key coordinators included Dr. Sk. Parveen, Eco Club in-charge, Dr. Ch. Chaitanya, Lecturer in Botany, and Dr. G. Venkata Rao, SASA Coordinator and Lecturer in Social Work. YRC Convener Sri Ch. Rajababu and YRC Members Smt. P. Balamanikanta and Sri S.Venkannababu also supervised the activity.

Students actively participated in setting up the terrace garden, learning practical techniques for plant cultivation and sustainable practices.
