As per the guidelines of the Andhra Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (APSACS) and the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education (CCE), AP, the Youth Red Cross (YRC) and Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of our college organized a series of awareness programmes from 28 November to 01 December 2025 to mark World AIDS Day 2025.
The activities were coordinated by Sri Ch. Rajababu, Lecturer in English (YRC Coordinator), and Sri P. Bhaskararao, Lecturer in History (RRC Coordinator), with assistace from Sri S. Venkanna Babu, Lecturer in Commerce, Smt B.Ranidurga, Lecturer in Commerce & Smt A.Santhi, Lecturer in Computer Science.
Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari appreciated the efforts of the YRC & RRC units for sensitizing students on HIV/AIDS awareness.Vice Principal Dr. K. Swarupa Rani encouraged students to actively participate in health awareness programmes for building a responsible society.
➤ Activity Schedule & Highlights
📌 1. Painting Competition
Date: 28 November 2025 (FN: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Theme: “HIV Prevention is in Our Hands”
Students expressed strong messages on prevention, safe practices, and awareness through creative paintings. Their artworks reflected youth commitment to combating HIV/AIDS.
📌 2. Quiz Competition – “Know HIV, Know Life”
Date: 28 November 2025 (AN: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
A quiz contest was conducted to test students’ knowledge on HIV transmission, prevention, myths, and facts. High levels of enthusiasm and competitive spirit were witnessed.
📌 3. Rangoli Competition
Date: 29 November 2025 (FN: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
Theme: “Community Support & Unity in Ending AIDS”
Vibrant rangoli designs highlighted messages of unity, compassion, and community involvement in ending AIDS by 2030.
📌 4. Human Chain Rally – Awareness Drive
Date: 01 December 2025 (FN: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Theme: “Break the Silence and Talk About HIV”
Students formed a human chain and carried placards promoting HIV awareness, stigma reduction, and responsible behavior. The rally spread a strong message on the need for open dialogue.
📌 5. Awareness Meeting & Prize Distribution
Date: 01 December 2025 (AN: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
An awareness meeting was held where faculty discussed the significance of World AIDS Day, safe health practices, and the role of youth in ending stigma. Prizes were distributed to winners of all competitions.

- To spread awareness on HIV/AIDS prevention and care
- To remove misconceptions and encourage open conversation
- To promote youth leadership in health education
- To support the goal of Ending AIDS by 2030
➤ Student Participation
Students from B.A., B.Com., and B.Sc. programmes took part in all events with great enthusiasm. Participation from first, second, and final-year students added vibrancy to the activities.
➤ Outcome of the Programme
- Students gained accurate knowledge about HIV/AIDS and its prevention.
- Myths were clarified through interactive quizzes and discussions.
- The human chain and competitions enhanced community visibility and engagement.
- Youth volunteers strengthened their roles as ambassadors of health awareness.
