On 24th September 2025, the Department of Botany, in collaboration with the Youth Red Cross committee (YRC), organized the 10th Ayurveda Day Awareness Program at SCHVPMR Government Degree College, Ganapavaram commemorating Ayurveda Day on 23rd September. The program aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of Ayurveda in daily life and the need to preserve traditional knowledge for a healthier future and is also a proposed YRC activity for 2024-25.
The event was graced by Principal Dr.P.Nirmala Kumari, Vice Principal Dr. K. Swarupa Rani and IQAC Coordinator Sri K. V. Ganesh Kumar. The program was organized by Dr. Ch. Chaitanya (Lecturer in Botany) and Sri Ch. Rajababu (Lecturer in English and YRC Convenor).
As part of the celebration, an awareness session highlighted the holistic principles of Ayurveda, emphasizing the balance of body, mind, and environment. Speakers discussed the preventive, promotive, and curative aspects of Ayurveda and its relevance in modern life. Additionally, a medicinal plant was planted in the college garden to mark the occasion and promote environmental awareness.
