Community Engagement Programme on “Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan”-21.08.2025

The Department of Chemistry in collaboration with NSS Units I and II of Sri Chintalapati Varaparasada Murthy Raju Government Degree College, Ganapavaram, organized a Community Engagement Programme under the Jan Bhagidari initiative of the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan on 21.08.2025.

The session aimed to spread awareness about tuberculosis (TB), its prevention, early detection, and treatment facilities available through government health services. Dr. Omkarnath, Medical Officer, PHC Ganapavaram, served as the resource person, delivering an insightful session on combating TB and the importance of community participation in eradicating the disease. Community Health Officer (CHO) Sri J. Wilson Babu also addressed the gathering, emphasizing local health initiatives and the role of youth in health awareness campaigns.

The program was held under the guidance of Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari and Vice Principal Dr. K. Swarupa Rani. It was coordinated by Sri NVNB Srinivasa Rao, Lecturer in Chemistry, along with NSS Unit Coordinators Dr. G. Venkata Ramana and Sri Sk. Ansari.

Students, faculty, and NSS volunteers actively participated, making the programme an effective step in promoting health literacy and community engagement in line with national health goals.
