National Consumer Day: GDC Ganapavaram Student Bhavya Sri Shines at District Level-24.12.2025

S. Ch. V. P. M. R. Government Degree College, Ganapavaram, observed National Consumers Day with a series of awareness and competitive activities aimed at sensitizing students about consumer rights and responsibilities. As part of the celebrations, Essay Writing and Elocution Competitions were conducted at the college level on the theme “Efficient and Speedy Disposal through Digital Justice.”

The programme was conducted with the encouragement and support of the College Principal, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, who emphasized the importance of consumer awareness and legal literacy among students in the digital era.

A good number of students actively participated in the competitions, demonstrating a clear understanding of consumer protection mechanisms and the role of digital justice in ensuring timely grievance redressal. The following students emerged as college-level winners:

  • Essay Writing Competition:
    Ms. M. Durganjali, II B.Com
  • Elocution Competition:
    Ms. B. Bhavya Sri, I B.Com

In addition to the competitions, a Consumer Awareness Pledge was administered to students at the college level, reaffirming their commitment to ethical consumer practices and awareness of consumer rights.

The activities were effectively organized and coordinated by the Department of Commerce, with the active involvement of Smt. P. Balamanianta, Smt. B. Rani Durga, and Sri S. Venkanna Babu, Lecturers in Commerce, who guided and motivated the students throughout the programme.

The college-level winners were nominated to represent the institution at the District-Level Essay Writing and Elocution Competitions, conducted on the eve of National Consumers Day – 24 December 2025, by SCIM Government Degree College, Tanuku. The district-level competitions were also organized on the same theme, “Efficient and Speedy Disposal through Digital Justice.”

At the district level, Ms. B. Bhavya Sri (I B.Com) brought laurels to the college by securing the First Prize in the Elocution Competition. In recognition of her outstanding performance, she was awarded:

  • Certificate of Merit
  • Vivekananda Motivational Book
  • Cash Prize of ₹5,000/-

The college management congratulated the prize winners and appreciated the efforts of the faculty members for their guidance and commitment in nurturing student talent. The institution continues to encourage participation in academic and awareness-based activities that promote responsible citizenship and consumer empowerment.
