The Department of Physics and Department of Computer Science organized a two-day Educational Field Trip to Visakhapatnam on 21st and 22nd January 2026 with the objective of providing students with experiential learning and exposure to advanced academic and research environments.
The programme was conducted under the leadership of the Principal, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, and the Vice Principal, Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, who encouraged the conduct of academic field visits as part of holistic education.
A total of 20 students (11 boys and 9 girls) participated in the field trip. The programme was coordinated by Sri K. V. Ganesh Kumar, Lecturer in Physics, who served as the Field Trip Coordinator.
Day–1: 21 January 2026
The group departed from Tadepalligudem Railway Station by Ratnachal Express and reached Visakhapatnam at 12:20 PM. After lunch at the Andhra University Canteen, students visited the Andhra University Campus from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
During the academic visit, students were guided through the Department of Physics laboratories, including the Solid State Physics Laboratory, Modern Physics Laboratory, Digital Electronics Laboratory, and the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Facility. Students were also exposed to advanced research instrumentation at the Andhra University Advanced Analytical Research Laboratory, including Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and UV–Visible Spectrophotometry.
The campus visit was facilitated by Ms. S. Priyanka (M.Sc Physics), alumna of the college, and Sri P. Vamsi, Sri Balakrishna, and Sri P. Venkatesh, who interacted with and guided the students across the campus. The visit concluded with a brief visit to RK Beach, followed by accommodation arrangements in the evening.
Day–2: 22 January 2026
On the second day, students participated in a Visakhapatnam city tour, covering Simhachalam Temple, Kailasagiri, Rishikonda Beach, Tenneti Park, Submarine Museum, and VUDA Park.
Special emphasis was laid on the visit to the Submarine Museum, where students gained knowledge about marine engineering, naval technology, and India’s maritime defence systems, linking scientific principles with real-world applications.
The field trip concluded with the return journey from Visakhapatnam by Rayagada–Guntur Express, reaching Tadepalligudem in the early hours of the next day.
The educational field trip successfully enhanced students’ academic exposure, encouraged interest in higher education and research, and provided a platform for learning beyond the classroom.
