Martyrs’ Day, commemorating the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, was observed on 30 January 2026 at S. Ch. V. P. M. R. Government Degree College, Ganapavaram by NSS Units I & II in association with the Department of History.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, who highlighted the relevance of Gandhiji’s ideals in contemporary society. The Vice Principal, Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, encouraged students to imbibe values of peace, discipline, and social responsibility.
The observance was coordinated by Dr. G. Venkata Ramana, Lecturer in Telugu (NSS Unit I) and Sri Sk. Ansari, Lecturer in Chemistry (NSS Unit II), along with Sri P. Bhaskararao, Lecturer in History. Floral tributes were paid to Mahatma Gandhi, and students actively participated in the programme.
