National Deworming Day Observed-17.02.2026

National Deworming Day was observed on 17.02.2026 by the Youth Red Cross Society (YRC) of S.Ch.V.P.M.R. Government Degree College, Ganapavaram, in collaboration with the Ganapavaram Primary Health Centre (PHC), as per the guidelines of the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, who highlighted the importance of deworming in improving students’ health and nutritional status. The Vice Principal, Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, Lecturer in Economics, emphasized the role of preventive healthcare in ensuring students’ academic progress and overall well-being.

The medical team from Ganapavaram PHC, including Dr. K. Omkarnath, Medical Officer, and Sri J. Wilson Babu, Community Health Officer (CHO), along with their staff, supported the programme. Albendazole tablets were administered to eligible students after creating awareness on the benefits of deworming.

The programme reflected effective coordination between the college, the Youth Red Cross Society, and the health department in promoting student health and preventive care.
