The Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) of S. Ch. V. P. M. R. Government Degree College, Ganapavaram observed the Birth Anniversary of Savitribai Phule on 03 January 2026 with the objective of creating awareness about women’s education, social reform, and empowerment.
The programme was coordinated by the WEC Coordinator, Dr. Ch. Anuradha, along with WEC Member Smt. P. Bala Manikanta. On the occasion, the Principal, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, addressed the students and highlighted the pioneering role of Savitribai Phule as India’s first woman teacher and her immense contribution to women’s upliftment and social equality.
As part of the programme, Ms. Praanuthi Priyadarshini (I B.Com) delivered an informative speech on the life and achievements of Savitribai Phule, inspiring students to value education and gender equality. Faculty members also shared their thoughts on women empowerment and social responsibility.
A total of 50 students actively participated in the programme, making the observance meaningful and impactful.
