In line with the directions of the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, Andhra Pradesh, and under the Swarna Andhra Swachha Andhra (SASA) initiative, S.CH.V.P.M.R. Government Degree College, Ganapavaram, observed the monthly theme “Clean Air” during October 2025.
Under the esteemed guidance of Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, Principal, Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, Vice Principal, Sri K.V. Ganesh Kumar, IQAC Coordinator, and Sri D.G.V. Venkata Rao, SASA Coordinator, a series of awareness and eco-friendly activities were organized to sensitize students on air quality improvement and sustainable living.
Programmes Conducted:
🌿 Essay Writing Competition (10.10.2025):
Students enthusiastically participated by writing essays on the importance of clean air, causes of air pollution, and individual responsibility in promoting environmental balance.
🚴♀️ No Vehicle Day (14.10.2025):
A “Pollution-Free Campus” activity was conducted by observing No Vehicle Day on the campus, encouraging students and staff to use bicycles or walk to college to reduce vehicular emissions.
🎤 Elocution Competition (16.10.2025):
Participants delivered insightful speeches highlighting government measures, youth participation, and practical ways to ensure pollution control and cleaner surroundings.
🌱 Air-Purifying Plant Plantation (17.10.2025):
Air-purifying plants were planted across the campus to enhance greenery and improve air quality, reinforcing the message of sustainable and clean campus practices.
🗣️ Awareness Programme:
Faculty and students jointly discussed the harmful impacts of air pollution and shared effective ways to maintain clean air at personal and community levels.
Outcome:
The “Clean Air” activities under the SASA initiative successfully raised environmental consciousness among students and staff. The college reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a pollution-free, sustainable, and green campus.
