Students of II BA Economics, SCHVPMR Government Degree College, Ganapavaram, conducted a public survey from 15–30 September 2025 to understand the impact of the Stri Shakti free-bus scheme for women, girls, and transgender persons.
Key Findings:
✅ Increased women ridership and reduced travel expenses.
✅ Requests for more buses, rural routes, and safer night travel.
✅ Suggestions for CCTV, digital ticketing, and smart monitoring.
✅ Public opinion largely positive but calls for targeted eligibility or partial fares.
🚌 The survey recommends expanding the fleet, introducing digital ticketing, and integrating women’s mobility with empowerment programs.
This initiative was supervised by Vice Principal & Dept. of Economics In-charge, Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, under the guidance and encouragement of Principal, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, whose leadership continues to inspire such meaningful field-based learning and social engagement.
