As part of the nationwide commemoration of 150 Years of the National Song Vande Mataram, S.Ch.V.P.M.R. Government Degree College, Ganapavaram organized a week-long programme from 07–14 November 2025 in accordance with the guidelines of the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, A.P.
Under the leadership of Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari and Vice Principal Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, a committee headed by Dr. G. Venkata Ramana (Coordinator & NSS Unit–I Programme Officer) with members Dr. G. Venkata Rao (Social Work), Sri P. Bhaskar Rao (History), Sri Ch. Raja Babu (English), and Smt. B. Rani Durga (Commerce) effectively planned and executed the celebrations. NSS Unit–I & NSS Unit–II volunteers actively participated throughout the week.
📅 Day-1: 07 November 2025 – Mass Singing of Vande Mataram
The celebrations opened with the mass singing of Vande Mataram by students, both NSS units, faculty, and non-teaching staff, marking an inspiring start to the commemorative activities.
📅 Day-2: 08 November 2025 – Drawing Competition
A drawing competition on “Portraits of Indian Patriots” was conducted under the guidance of
Smt. B. Rani Durga, Lecturer in Commerce. Students depicted national heroes through creative artwork.
📅 Day-3: 10 November 2025 – Patriotic Songs at Public Places
Students sang patriotic songs at Ganapavaram Market and key public circles, spreading national pride and historical awareness.

📅 Day-4: 11 November 2025 – Seminar
A seminar on “Vande Mataram and its Role in India’s Freedom Struggle” was delivered by
Dr. G. Venkata Rao, Lecturer in Social Work, highlighting the song’s cultural and revolutionary significance.
📅 Day-5: 12 November 2025 – Debate Competition
A debate on “Vande Mataram and its Contemporary Relevance” was held, coordinated by
Sri Ch. Raja Babu, Lecturer in English. Students actively participated in thoughtful exchanges.
📅 Day-6: 13 November 2025 – Essay Writing Competition
An essay writing competition on the theme
“Vande Mataram and its role in India’s Freedom Struggle” was conducted by
Smt. B. Rani Durga, Lecturer in Commerce.
📅 Day-7: 14 November 2025 – Valedictory Session
The week-long celebrations concluded with a Valedictory Session conducted by
Dr. G. Venkata Ramana, NSS Unit–I Programme Officer.
Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari and Vice Principal Dr. K. Swarupa Rani appreciated both NSS Unit–I and NSS Unit–II volunteers, committee members, and faculty for successfully organizing all activities and ensuring active student participation. Winners of various competitions were congratulated for their enthusiasm and performance.
🎯 Overall Impact
The seven-day celebration enhanced:
- students’ understanding of Vande Mataram and its historical value,
- patriotic feeling and cultural awareness,
- creative expression through art, music, writing, and debate,
- active community engagement through NSS participation.
The college reaffirmed its commitment to promoting national spirit, cultural heritage, and student engagement through such meaningful programmes.
