S.Ch.V.P.M.R. Government Degree College, Ganapavaram organized an awareness programme on the occasion of World Earth Day on 22 April 2026.
The programme was organized by the Department of Botany, Eco Club, and NSS Unit–I under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, who presided over the event. In her address, she emphasized the importance of environmental protection and encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly practices. She highlighted that “there is only one Earth” and stressed the need for sustainable solutions and reduced pollution for a better future.
The programme witnessed the participation of Dr. G. Venkata Ramana, NSS Unit–I Programme Officer, and Dr. Sk. Parveen, Eco Club Convener, along with faculty members Dr. G. Venkat Rao, Sri P. Bhaskar Rao, Sri Ch. Rajababu, Smt. Santhi, and Sri J. Venkatesh. Around 25 students actively took part in the programme.
As part of the event, a Poster Presentation was organized by the Department of Botany, where students showcased their awareness and creativity on environmental issues.
K. Harika, T. V. Sindhu, and E. Sunny (I B.Sc Zoology) secured First, Second, and Third prizes respectively.
The programme successfully created awareness among students on environmental conservation and inspired them to act as responsible citizens committed to protecting the planet.
