In accordance with the circular issued by Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajamahendravaram, which was established on 22 April 2006 and is proudly completing 20 years of service in higher education in the Godavari region, S.Ch.V.P.M.R. Government Degree College, Ganapavaram organized a Plantation Programme on 17 April 2026 as part of the 20th Foundation Day celebrations of the University.
The programme was conducted as per the directions of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. S. Prasanna Sree and Registrar, Dr. K. V. Swamy. As per the University guidelines, the college undertook a green initiative by planting a minimum of 20 saplings within the campus, symbolizing growth, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.
The programme was organized by NSS Units I & II under the leadership of Dr. G. Venkata Ramana and Sri Sk. Moin Ansari, in collaboration with the Eco Club led by Dr. Sk. Parveen and the Department of Botany led by Dr. Ch. Chaitanya.
On this occasion, the Principal of the college, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of environmental conservation. Madam encouraged students to take responsibility for nurturing the planted saplings and contribute towards building a greener future.
Vice Principal Dr. K. Swarupa Rani highlighted the role of youth in environmental protection and the need for sustainable practices.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff and was conducted successfully, reflecting the institution’s commitment towards environmental sustainability and active participation in university initiatives.
