In accordance with the Swarna Andhra – Swachha Andhra (SASA) Circular, S.Ch.V.P.M.R. Government Degree College, Ganapavaram organized a series of activities on 18 April 2026 under the theme “Water Positive Andhra” as part of the programme conducted on the third Saturday of the month.
The programme was organized jointly by the SASA Team, Eco Club, and NSS Units I & II. The activities were coordinated by the SASA In-charge for the month of April, Sri P. Bhaskara Rao, Lecturer in History.
As part of the programme, repairs of water tap leakages were carried out in the college to prevent wastage of water, and the water tank was cleaned to ensure safe and hygienic usage. Students actively participated in poster presentations highlighting the importance of water conservation.
An awareness rally was conducted in and around the college to spread the message on water conservation. This was followed by a community outreach campaign, during which students distributed pamphlets in nearby residential areas to create awareness on efficient water usage.
An awareness programme on the theme “Water Positive Andhra” was also conducted, focusing on sustainable water management and conservation practices.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, who emphasized that water is the foundation of life and stressed the need for its conservation.
Vice Principal Dr. K. Swarupa Rani highlighted the importance of community participation in such initiatives. IQAC Coordinator Sri K. V. Ganesh Kumar appreciated the efforts of the organizing teams.
The programme witnessed active participation from NSS Programme Officers Dr. G. Venkata Ramana and Sri Sk. Moin Ansari, along with the Eco Club Coordinator Dr. Sk. Parveen, faculty members, and students.
The programme was conducted successfully, reflecting the institution’s commitment towards water conservation, environmental sustainability, and community awareness under the SASA initiative.
