1. Objectives
• To create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse on physical and mental
health.
• To educate students about the social, legal and health consequences of illicit trafficking.
• To encourage students to adopt a healthy, responsible and drug-free lifestyle.
• To motivate students to act as ambassadors for creating awareness about drug abuse in society.
2. Programme Activities
The Awareness Programme was presided over by Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, Principal. Sri. N.V.N.B.
Srinivasa Rao, Lecturer in Chemistry and Coordinator, EAGLE Club, coordinated the programme.
Sri. V. B. T. Raju, National Secretary, PMP Association of India, and Sri. N. Jaya Surya, Chief Advisor,
PMP Association, addressed the students and explained the harmful effects of drug abuse, its impact on
health and well-being, and the serious consequences associated with illicit trafficking.
An awareness rally was also conducted as part of the programme. Students and staff actively participated
in the rally and disseminated the message of preventing drug abuse and promoting a drug-free society.
3. Participants
The programme was attended by Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, Vice Principal; Sri K. V. Ganesh Kumar, IQAC
Coordinator; Convenors of YRC and RRC; all teaching staff; and students of the college.
4. Outcomes
• Students gained awareness about the physical, psychological and social consequences of drug abuse.
• Participants were sensitized to the dangers and consequences of illicit drug trafficking.
• The programme strengthened students’ commitment towards maintaining a drug-free lifestyle and
society.
• The awareness rally helped in spreading the anti-drug message among the public.
• The programme encouraged students to take an active role in drug-abuse prevention and community

5. Conclusion
The programme was successfully conducted with the active participation of the college community and
the PMP Association. The expert interaction and awareness rally effectively conveyed the message of
“Say No to Drugs” and reinforced the collective responsibility of students and staff in building a healthy,
safe and drug-free society.
