S.Ch.V.P.M.R. Government Degree College, Ganapavaram organized a programme on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day (Bhagat Singh Vardhanti) under the Department of History in the college Smart Room.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of the Principal, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, who addressed the students and explained the sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, who laid down their lives at a very young age for the freedom of the nation. She emphasized the importance of remembering their contributions and instilling patriotic values among students.
On this occasion, Sri P. Bhaskara Rao, Lecturer in History, spoke about the role of Bhagat Singh in the Indian freedom struggle and elaborated on his supreme sacrifice for the nation’s independence.
Subsequently, a programme was also organized jointly by the Departments of Telugu, History, and Social Work to mark the birth anniversary of social reformer Sri Dommeti Venkata Reddy.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal, Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari, highlighted the significant contributions of Sri Dommeti Venkata Reddy in the field of social service and his efforts towards the welfare of the underprivileged.
Dr. G. Venkata Rao, Lecturer in Social Work, explained the life and services of Sri Dommeti Venkata Reddy, particularly his work for the welfare of the poor and the reforms he brought for the Setti Balija community.
On this occasion, Vice Principal Dr. K. Swarupa Rani, Lecturer in Economics, and IQAC Coordinator Sri K. V. Ganesh Kumar, along with faculty members Dr. Ch. Chaitanya, Dr. G. Venkata Ramana, Smt. P. Balamanikanta, Sri J. Venkatesh, and Smt. A. Shanti, participated in the programme.
The programme successfully created awareness among students about patriotism, sacrifice, and social responsibility, making it a meaningful and informative event.
