Ganapavaram, August 2026: As part of the Government’s “Plantation Drive – 50% Green Coverage Initiative–2030,” the NSS Units I & II, Eco Club, Youth Red Cross (YRC), SASA, and the Department of Botany of Sri Chintalapati Varaprasada Murthy Raju Government Degree College, Ganapavaram, organized a plantation programme on the college campus by planting 50 saplings to promote environmental conservation and sustainable development.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. P. Nirmala Kumari emphasized that increasing green cover is essential for maintaining ecological balance and ensuring a sustainable future. She stated that tree plantation, environmental protection, cleanliness, and biodiversity conservation are collective responsibilities and encouraged students to actively participate in creating a greener and healthier society. She also highlighted that such initiatives instill environmental awareness and social responsibility among students while contributing to the Government’s vision of achieving 50% green coverage by 2030.
The Principal expressed her sincere gratitude to the Pedda Tadepalli Forest Department for providing the saplings and extending valuable support for the successful organization of the plantation drive. She appreciated the enthusiastic participation of faculty members, volunteers, and students in making the programme a grand success.
The programme was attended by Dr. K. Swaroopa Rani, Vice Principal; Mr. K. V. Ganesh Kumar, IQAC Coordinator; faculty members Mr. N. V. N. B. Srinivasa Rao, Dr. G. Venkata Rao, Dr. C. H. Anuradha, Dr. G. Venkataramana (Programme Officer, NSS Unit-I), Mr. Shaik Moin Ansari (Programme Officer, NSS Unit-II), Dr. Shaik Parveen, Mr. C. H. Rajababu, Mr. P. Bhaskara Rao, Mr. P. V. Ramesh Babu, Mr. Prasad (JKC Mentor), non-teaching staff, NSS volunteers, and a large number of students.
The programme concluded with a pledge by all participants to nurture the planted saplings, protect the environment, and contribute towards building a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future.
